Get Your Hopes Up Part 2

The proverbial, "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade," holds true in its meaning. Life will have its share of challenges, struggles, issues, and sorrows. All of us will face them at one time or another, perhaps multiple times as the years go by. And yet, we can have hope in the midst of it all and we can learn how to handle each one as they come.

When we learn how to "master our emotions" regardless of what we may face, and learn how to look at things realistically but also optimistically, we can actually place ourselves in a position to get the benefits hidden in the challenges. Think of the fact that champions are actually made in struggles. David had to face Goliath. And because he saw an opportunity where others saw a problem, we are still reading of his victory and the rewards of being positive and trusting in God.

Having hope does not mean that there will not be seemingly hopeless situations. Rather, through the promises of God, we can develop hope - which is an earnest expectation of good. While we may be facing a new year, we can choose to find some of those great and precious promises that give us God's guarantee of victory and claim them as our own. As we make a firm decision to feed upon these promises, speaking of them and pondering them, our hope and our faith will get bigger and bigger on the inside, and the issues of life will seem to get smaller and smaller.

WE ARE OVERCOMERS! Believe that. We can handle the situations and circumstances of life as they come, for problems are meant to be solved; challenges are meant to be overcome; issues are meant to be cleared up. Every challenge can be the seed for a greater victory if we fill our hearts with hope and expectancy. How can you work on developing real hope? Start by making a firm decision, one you will not turn from, to read a chapter from the Bible every day. This will give you great peace.

May this year prove to be a great, life-changing, year for you, filled with hope. YOU ARE NEVER ALONE! Remember that! You have God IN you, WITH you, and FOR you. Following Him, you cannot lose!
