Church History
Bishop Dr. Sheldon D. Newton and Dr. Jennifer M. Newton have been serving in the Ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ since they were teenagers. Bishop Newton is the son of Roland Newton Sr. (deceased) and Mrs. Rose Nell Newton. He was born again at the age of thirteen and filled with the Holy Spirit shortly thereafter.
Dr. Jennifer M. Newton was born to Rev. Dr. Randolph Armbrister, an Associate Minister of Mount Carey Union Baptist Church and Mrs. Dorothy Armbrister (both deceased). She was also born again at the tender age of thirteen and was baptized with the Holy Spirit as she sought for a deeper walk in Christ along with many of the young people in their church. Dr. Jennifer Monique Newton served in Mount Carey as an Usher, Children’s Choir Director, President of the Youth Department, leader in the GA’s “Girls in Action,” Sunday School teacher, Secretary for the Youth Department and as a Big Sister to many of the young ladies there.
